La Traviata (Unallocated)
Please note we will allocate your seats on the night and you will sit together.  We apologise, but please call the Box Office on 01707 645005 if you have any queries.
Southgate Opera presents La Traviata.

La Traviata: the story of a woman ‘gone astray’ is the most popular of all Verdi’s operas. Verdi described it as a story “for our times” and it was indeed unusual in having a contemporary setting.

The idea of a heroine of easy virtue who finds true love only to sacrifice her happiness for the sake of honour is given added poignancy because she is dying.

The story reaches out across the generations and has relevance even for our times in the twenty-first century.

Neil Diamond the Experience (Unallocated)

Please note we will allocate your seats on the night and you will sit together.  We apologise, but please call the Box Office on 01707 645005 if you have any queries.
Neil Diamond, The Experience is truly an amazingly close tribute to the legendary Neil Diamond. Featuring the official UK #1 Neil Diamond tribute singer Dominic Kaye and an 11 piece ensemble formed from the musicians of the internationally renowned Opus One band, the show is Europe's largest and most authentic tribute stage show to the singer/songwriter.

Dominic Kaye spent over 18 months perfecting his vocals and performance for his Neil Diamond tribute show before accepting his first booking! He uses an authentic sounding Brooklyn, New York speaking accent and his stage presence is simply outstanding. Long gone is the cliched 1980's look with the wigs, sparkly blue shirt and silver scarf... Dominic prefers giving authenticity to his show which is why he adopts a more current Neil Diamond look when on stage.

Performing all of the greatest hits such as America, Forever in blue jeans, Cracklin' Rosie and many more, the show guarantees to have the audience singing along and dancing in the aisles!

Respect to Aretha

Life-long Aretha Franklin fan and power-house vocalist, Letitia George stars in this heartfelt and uplifting dedication to the Queen of Soul.

Aretha Franklin’s extraordinary career as a singer and songwriter spanned over sixty years. She rose from church gospel singer to international stardom at a young age and is widely accepted as the finest female soul singer of our time. Her talent has always been unequalled. Massive hits including ‘A Natural Woman, Say a little Prayer, Chain of Fools, Until You Come Back to Me, Think, I Never Love a Man’, and of course ‘Respect’, will ensure that Aretha’s legacy will continue forever.

Whilst Letitia George will always be remembered for her breath-taking performances on series four of The Voice, she has gone on to forge an enviable reputation as one of the most passionate and hardworking soul singers around. Aretha’s sad passing has inspired Letitia and her outstanding backing band to attempt the seemingly impossible. Very few singers could ever do justice to the Aretha Franklin songbook… but Letitia George manages to captivate the very spirit!

An Evening with Jeff Thomson

OnWednesday 26th June 2019 the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar playshost to an evening with Australian fast bowling legend Jeff ‘Thommo’ Thomson.

Thommo is considered by many in the game to be the world’s unofficialfastest bowler of all time and is widely remembered for his relationship withfellow fast bowler Dennis Lillee.  WithLillee by his side Thommo was part of the most fearsome combinations in Testcricket history, causing Wisden to comment that: “… it was easy to believe theywere the fastest pair ever to have coincided in a cricket team”. Thommo tormentedthe best batsman in world cricket throughout the 70’s and 80’s until his retirementin 1986.

Jeffand Graham will take a nostalgic look back on their illustrious careers withnumerous antidotes from on and off the field of play; not to mention theiropinions on the current Ashes series and cricket in general.

The Wyllyotts Theatre will be open from 7pm with the main event starting at8pm.  At the half time tea interval therewill be a raffle with some great prizes up for grabs.  There is also a chance to ask Jeff and Grahamquestions and to purchase a specially commissioned print which they will both signon the night.
