An Evening with Jeff Thomson

OnWednesday 26th June 2019 the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar playshost to an evening with Australian fast bowling legend Jeff ‘Thommo’ Thomson.

Thommo is considered by many in the game to be the world’s unofficialfastest bowler of all time and is widely remembered for his relationship withfellow fast bowler Dennis Lillee.  WithLillee by his side Thommo was part of the most fearsome combinations in Testcricket history, causing Wisden to comment that: “… it was easy to believe theywere the fastest pair ever to have coincided in a cricket team”. Thommo tormentedthe best batsman in world cricket throughout the 70’s and 80’s until his retirementin 1986.

After he retired in 1997,the statistician Robert Brooke calculated that Graham had scored 22,211 runs inList A cricket which, added to his 44,846 first-class runs, put him ahead ofthe great Jack Hobbs.

Jeffand Graham will take a nostalgic look back on their illustrious careers withnumerous antidotes from on and off the field of play; not to mention theiropinions on the current Ashes series and cricket in general.

The Wyllyotts Theatre will be open from 7pm with the main event starting at8pm.  At the half time tea interval therewill be a raffle with some great prizes up for grabs.  There is also a chance to ask Jeff and Grahamquestions and to purchase a specially commissioned print which they will both signon the night.

Milton Jones: Work in Progress

One man. One Mission. Is it possible? No, not really.

Milton reveals the truth about being an international spy, before being given a disappointing new identity which forced him to appear on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo.

But this is also a love story with the twist, or at least a really bad sprain.

Just gloriously daft nonsense or is there a deeper meaning? Every man has his price. Sainsburys, where good food costs less.
