An Evening with Graham Gooch & Mike Gatting

Thurs 13th Sep  8pm
Tickets:
Balcony     £13.50
Flat Floor Seating  £16.50
Raked Stalls   £19.50
VIP      £49

On 13th September 2018 the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar plays host to an evening with two of England cricket’s most famous characters and Captains Graham Gooch and Mike Gatting.

The statistics speak for themselves, as two of England's greatest batsman Gooch and Gatting played a combined total of 197 Test Matches, scoring over 13,300 runs.

Graham Gooch was one of the most prolific run makers top-flight cricket has ever seen. After he retired in 1997, the statistician Robert Brooke calculated that Graham had scored 22,211 runs in List A cricket which, added to his 44,846 first-class runs, put him ahead of the great Jack Hobbs.

Mike Gatting was a natural, a point recognised by the England selectors when they sent him on tour as a 20-year-old, in 1977-78. But it would take seven more years, and 54 Test innings, before he made his first century with 136 in Bombay, an innings of such guts and determination that the British press broke its rule and applauded. Then there was no stopping him.

Graham and Mike will take a nostalgic look back on their illustrious careers with numerous antidotes from on and off the field of play; not to mention their opinions on the current state of English Cricket and the game in general.

The Wyllyotts Theatre will be open from 7pm with the main event starting at 8pm.  At the half time tea interval there will be a raffle with some great prizes up for grabs.  There is also a chance to ask Graham and Mike questions and to purchase a specially commissioned print which they will both sign on the night. It should be noted that the VIP session commences at 7pm.

Standard tickets are great value for money starting at just £13.50 and there is also an exclusive VIP package available for £49 which includes a front row seat, meeting the stars prior to the show, receiving a limited edition signed print and having your photograph taken with Graham and Mike.

With only a limited number of tickets available and to avoid disappointment it’s important to book now for what promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment for all sport enthusiasts.

Rich Hall's Hoedown
Rich Hall’s critically acclaimed new show begins its second leg of touring. There has never been a better time to be an American comedian in the UK. Hall’s precision dismantling of the tenuous relationship between two countries is as freewheeling and deadly accurate as ever. His BBC Four documentaries, most recently Rich Hall’s Countrier Than You and Rich Hall’s Presidential Grudge Match and BBC Radio 4 series Rich Hall’s (US Election) Breakdown have built him a new legion of followers, as has appearances on Have I Got News For You and QI. But if you’ve only ever seen Hall on TV, you’ve short-changed yourself. “As close as it gets to a guaranteed good show” (Scotland on Sunday)The Hoedown begins as a withering dissection of Trump’s America, but ends up being a celebration of Americana. There’s stand-up, improvised ballads, cracking good musicianship, and ultimately a hilarious, foot-stomping, shit-kicking good time to be had by all. Even if you don’t own a hoe. “Blissfully Funny” (Guardian)

Tickets:
Balcony       £13.50
Flat Floor Seating  £16.50
Raked Stalls     £19.50
VIP         £49

We play host to an evening with one of Arsenal Football Club’s most famous and much loved characters Charlie George.

From 1969-1975 Charlie made 179 appearances scoring 49 goals and is rated at number 9 in the Gunners greatest 50 players of all time.

Charlie was a local lad, a maverick and is a true Arsenal legend. Born in Islington, London, George attended the local Grafton, Holloway Road and New Middleton Schools.  Charlie supported Arsenal as a boy and played for Islington Schoolboys before joining Arsenal in May 1966 and turning professional in 1968.

Deep into extra-time at the 1971 FA Cup final, with the scores locked at 1-1, Charlie sent a thunderous 20-yard drive beyond the reach of Ray Clemence in the Liverpool goal. It sealed a first ‘Double’ for Arsenal.  The celebration that followed – with Charlie falling to the ground with his arms outstretched above his head - is one of the most iconic images in the history of Arsenal.

To host the event is another Arsenal fans favourite, Perry Groves who made 203 appearances for the Gunners scoring 28 goals.  Charlie and Perry make a fascinating double act for what promises to be a very entertaining night out.

At half time there will be a raffle with some great prizes up for grabs.  There is also a chance to ask Charlie and Perry questions and to purchase a specially commissioned print which they will sign on the night.

Standard tickets are great value for money starting at just £13.50 and there is also an exclusive VIP package available for £49 which includes a front row seat, meeting the stars prior to the show, receiving a limited edition signed print and having your photograph taken with these Arsenal greats.

With only a limited number of tickets available and to avoid disappointment it’s important to book now for what promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment for all sport enthusiasts.

The King and I
The award winning ELODS proudly present: Rogers and Hammerstein’s  The King and I. This highly celebrated musical set in 1860’s Bangkok and  tells the moving story of the experiences of Anna, a British school teacher hired as a governess as part of the King of Siam’s idea to modernise his country.

A celebration of love in all its forms, we see the desperation of forbidden love; the love of a neglected wife; and although on the surface we witness an amusing conflict between Anna and The King throughout as East meets West, love creeps up on them, which neither can admit or accept. A timeless classic, not to be missed.

An Evening with Gilzean & Mullery

Balcony     £13.50
Flat Floor Seating  £16.50
Raked Stalls   £19.50

We host a nostalgic look back on White Hart Lane with two of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s most inspirational players in Alan Mullery and Alan Gilzean.

An impressive midfielder and captain, Alan Mullery MBE made 373 competitive appearances for Spurs having joined the club from Fulham in 1964. Renowned for his strength, desire, hard work and enthusiasm Mullery was an FA Cup winner in 1967, which coincided with a regular run in the England team and the 1970 Mexico World Cup where he scored in the classic quarter-final match against West Germany.  Mullery took over the Spurs captaincy from Dave Mackay and led the side to the 1971 League Cup.  His passion for football is matched by a stream of anecdotes about the players that have filled his professional life, including Bobby Moore, Pele, Johnny Haynes, Jimmy Greaves and George Best.

Perthshire-born Alan 'Gilly' Gilzean helped Dundee to the Scottish League and had already been capped five times by Scotland when he was brought to White Hart Lane by Bill Nicholson in 1964.  One of the best headers of the ball the Club has seen, Alan Gilzean struck up lethal partnerships with both Jimmy Greaves and Martin Chivers in a decade at the Lane.

Gilzean immediately hit it off with Greaves and was a member of the 1967 FA Cup winning team but the arrival of Martin Chivers the following season appeared to put his place in jeopardy.  It didn't turn out that way though as Greaves departed and, instead, Gilzean and Chivers led the line in a golden era as Spurs landed the League Cup in 1971 and 1973 and the UEFA Cup in 1972.  Gilzean played 429 times for Spurs scoring 133 goals before eventually departing for South Africa in 1974.

To host the event is another Spurs favourite, Micky Hazard who made over 100 appearances for the club and was a member of the team that won the 1982 FA Cup and the UEFA Cup in 1984.

Wyllyotts Theatre will be open from 7pm with the main event starting at 8pm.  During the evening there will be a raffle with some great prizes up for grabs plus the chance to ask questions and to purchase some fantastic Spurs memorabilia.

Tickets are great value for money starting at just £13.50 and there is also an exclusive VIP package available for £49.00 which includes priority seating, meeting the stars prior to the show from 6.45pm, receiving a signed memento of the evening plus having a photograph taken with these Spurs legends.

With only a limited number of tickets available and to avoid disappointment it’s important to book now for what promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment for all football enthusiasts.
