The Dreamers remain one of the best known named bands on the sixties music circuit. Changes to personnel over the past 50 years were of course inevitable but Alan Mosca remains in the band today, He has been in the band as Freddie and The Dreamers and then The Dreamers for over 37 years.
Along with Freddie, Alan a toured throughout Europe Australia and The Middle East and along with Freddie was part of the British Invasion Tour of America (part 2) sharing the stage with Gerry and The Pacemakers and The Searchers appearing at Madison Square Gardens, New York and other prestige venues. Appearances on TV alongside Freddie include Cilla Black’s Surprise Surprise, The Noel Edmunds House Party.

RARE Productions, the UK’s largest youth musical theatre production company, will be holding OPEN AUDITIONS for its forthcoming production of BUGSY MALONE at Wyllyotts Theatre. These auditions are open to young people between the ages of 8 and 21.
The stage musical follows the 1976 film, which was produced with a cast consisting entirely of young people, including a 13 year old Jodie Foster. It is set in Chicago in the 1920’s and concerns the battle for criminal supremacy of rival gangs led by Fat Sam and Dandy Dan. Into the mix steps aspiring boxing promoter Bugsy Malone, who becomes involved with aspiring night club singer Blousey Brown, and agrees to help Fat Sam turn the tables on his rival. The ‘weapons’ in this story are, of course, splurge guns and in the finale, just about everyone gets ‘splurged’ before getting up and realizing they can all be friends after all.
With well known songs such as ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘Fat Sam’s Grand Slam’ and ‘Bad Guys’ and exciting dance routines, this is a massively popular show with young casts everywhere, and a show for audiences of all ages to enjoy.

Pat Jennings had a truly illustrious football career playing for Northern Ireland 119times over 22 years. Pat spent thirteen years at White Hart Lane, where he played in 472 league games for Spurs, and 591 in all competitions. He won the FACup in 1967, the League Cup in 1971 and 1973, and the UEFA Cup in 1972. In 1973 the Football Writers’ Associationnamed Pat as its footballer of the year. Three years later he won PFA’s version of the award – he was the firstgoalkeeper to receive this accolade.
With Spurs thinking he was nearing the end of his career Pat was transferred toarch-rivals Arsenal in August 1977. However, Pat saw off rivals for the goalkeeper's jersey to play for theGunners for another eight years where he helped Arsenal to four Cup finals inthree successive years; the FA Cup final in 1978, 1979, and 1980, as well as the European Cup Winners Cup final that year. However, Arsenal only managed to win the second of these finals, a 3–2 victory against Manchester United. In total, Pat made 327 appearances forArsenal, 237 of them in the League, between 1977 and his eventual retirementfrom first-team club football in 1985. On 26 February 1983, Pat became the first player in English football tomake 1,000 senior appearances.

Southgate Opera presents a double bill of opera favourites:
Pagliacci tells the tale of love, heartbreak, betrayal and murder. Based on a real-life love triangle known to the composer, Leoncavallo, the opera is regarded for the searing aria ‘Vesti la giubba’ (Put on the Costume) which is sung by Canio as he prepares for the final performance in which he will confront his wife, Nedda, who is secretly involved with Silvio a young villager.
Trial by Jury is a comic one act opera by Gilbert & Sullivan. The story concerns a breach of promise of marriage lawsuit in which the judge and British legal system are the objects of lighthearted satire. The plot might be ludicrous, but the characters behave as if the events were perfectly reasonable.
