An Evening with Pat Jennings

A very rare opportunity to meet goalkeeping legend PatJennings! This exclusive event is taking place at the Wyllyotts Theatre inPotters Bar on Thursday 14th November 2019. 

 

PatJennings had a truly illustrious football career playing for Northern Ireland 119times over 22 years.  Pat spent thirteenyears at White Hart Lane, where he played in 472 league games for Spurs, and591 in all competitions.  He won the FACup in 1967, the League Cup in 1971 and 1973, and the UEFA Cup in 1972.  In 1973 the Football Writers’ Associationnamed Pat as its footballer of the year. Three years later he won PFA’s version of the award – he was the firstgoalkeeper to receive this accolade.

 

WithSpurs thinking he was nearing the end of his career Pat was transferred toarch-rivals Arsenal in August 1977. However, Pat saw off rivals for the goalkeeper's jersey to play for theGunners for another eight years where he helped Arsenal to four Cup finals inthree successive years; the FA Cup final in 1978, 1979, and 1980, as well asthe European Cup Winners Cup final that year. However, Arsenal only managed towin the second of these finals, a 3–2 victory against Manchester United.  In total, Pat made 327 appearances forArsenal, 237 of them in the League, between 1977 and his eventual retirementfrom first-team club football in 1985. On 26 February 1983, Pat became the first player in English football tomake 1,000 senior appearances. 

To host the event is Micky Hazard who made over 100 appearances for Spurs and was a member of the Tottenhamteam that won the 1982 FA Cup and UEFACup in 1984.

During the evening Patand Micky will talk candidly about their successful playing careers and theiropinions on the game in general.  There will alsobe a raffle with some great prizes up for grabs on the night plus the chance toask Pat and Micky questions and to purchase some fantastic football memorabilia.       

 

The Wyllyotts Theatre will be open from 7pm with the main event starting at8pm.  Standard tickets are great valuefor money starting at just £13.50 and there is also an exclusive *VIP packageavailable for £49 which includes a front row seat, meeting the stars prior tothe show, receiving a special signed memento of the evening and photoopportunity.
